Tip 1. Once you have typed the 4th character into a text box of Individual Ratings of the Opponents, the program shifts to the next text box automatically.

Tip 2. The program validates the data inputs. If a wrong character has been typed, it will not appear on the program screen.

Tip 3. The program calculates Elo results considering the FIDE rule of 400 points in rating difference between 2 chess players.

Tip 4. The program displays 2 values of the opponents' average. The first is due to considering the FIDE rule of 400 points while the second is without it.

Tip 5. The program automatically counts the number of games while you are typing the individual ratings of the opponents.

Tip 6. You can change the default value of the K-factors via the Options window. To open it, on menu click Tools, and then click Options.

Tip 7. If the Player's Score is like 7.5 then type 7 and press PERIOD(.) or COMMA(,) - does not matter which of 2. The program adds 5 automatically.

Tip 8. For better view, you can move aside the program windows by clicking Move Aside in the Player's Results window.

Tip 9. If not enough data or wrong data were typed, the program will ask you to correct them by displaying a message.

Tip 10. To access Player's Rating, Player's Score, or Number of Games (the program text boxes) , you can press Alt + R, Alt + S, or Alt + N.

Tip 11. To cycle through all the text boxes, command and option buttons, use the Tab key.

Tip 12. To cycle through the key text boxes, press letter Z on your keyboard for several times.

Tip 13. To return back in the program Tab order, use the shortcut keys Shift + Tab.

Tip 14. To quickly quit the program or close the active program window, press Esc.

Tip 15. Instead of clicking Calculate, you can press Enter.

Tip 16. At exit, the program saves its last location on the desktop.

Tip 17. At exit, the program saves the value of the Player's Rating and his or her K-factor.

Tip 18. At exit, if the program window is outside the desktop, next run the program will appear at the desktop center.

Tip 19. You can hide the program tooltips. To hide them, on menu click View, point to ToolTips, and then click Hide.

Tip 20. You can show the motto I will win the next time. To show it, on menu click View, point to Motto, and then click Show.

Tip 21. To change the program icon on the desktop, right-click the program shortcut, point to and click Properties. Click Change Icon, select a new one, and click OK.

Tip 22. To display Help, press F1.

Note: There are more program tips. For example, if Opponent Average and [Real] differ each other it means that Elo Calculator for FIDE has applied the FIDE rule of 400 points. You can find more tips in the program Help.
